Dear pool user,
Due to government restrictions as a result of Covid-19, it is very unlikely that we will be able to open the swimming pool as planned in early May. This is a great shame as we are keen that you can all experience our new facilities and enjoy our wonderful pool.
For now, we are therefore not offering season tickets for 2020 on sale and also we are not taking bookings for the pool.
We will of course open the pool as soon as is practically possible. To keep updated please check this web site and also our Facebook page:
Take care and we sincerely hope that we will be able to welcome you to Greystoke Pool soon.
Chair, Greystoke and District Sports Association
If you walk down Church Road, you will see that the contractors Postlethwaites have completed their work on site and have handed over the new facilities back to the Sports Association. We now have a wonderful new cafe and changing rooms. When the pool officially opens in May this year you will be able to see the facilities at first hand.
Thank you so much to all of you who bought a brick or helped in the fundraising. The overall project cost has been around £160,000. We wopuld never have raised this amount of money without all our generous grant funders including the Fells and Dales LEADER programme (supported by the EU), the Hadfield Trust and the Cumbria Waste Management Environment Trust.
We still some help in finishing off things, including painting the building and equipping the café (tables, chairs and anew upright display freezer). We will also need the usual help in getting the pool ready for the start of the new season. So do not be backward about coming forward and contact a member of the Committee.
